Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Manager/Senior Commodity Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for owning the strategic procurement and management of the Non-Ferrous Metals category, including copper & aluminum magnet winding wire, and aluminum ingot, across all regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for the Non Ferrous Metals category, manage and place financial commodity hedges, and conduct market analysis to identify standard processes, benchmark costs, and identify potential suppliers.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and continuous improvement, lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, and develop and implement supplier performance metrics.
  • Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives and find opportunities for cost savings, collaborate with finance and leadership to align on hedging strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with product requirements and quality standards, and partner with regional operational teams to ensure consistent global execution of category strategies.
  • Risk Management: Develop contingency plans to ensure supply continuity in the event of supplier disruptions or market volatility.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve procurement processes, tools, and systems, and stay informed of industry developments and new technologies to drive innovation within the category.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain or related degree.
  • Detailed market knowledge in commodity industry gained through experience in engineering, operations, and/or marketing, or first-hand procurement negotiation knowledge.
  • 3+ years Procurement experience, in a manufacturing background required.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA.
  • Five (5) years Sourcing experience.
  • Prior work experience in a global organization preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% to suppliers and operational plants globally.

Flexible Work Schedule: This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work from home option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule.
