Position Overview:
This position is accountable for managing a large-scale and intricate information systems migration project. Therefore, experience with Epic implementation and migration is highly desirable. The Information Systems Project Manager will be responsible for developing plans utilizing suitable frameworks (e.g., PMP/Waterfall, Agile); collaborating with various IS and business stakeholders to maintain and oversee the plan; coordinating with vendors regarding any external deliverables; communicating project status, managing risks, and overseeing project budgets. The primary responsibility includes ensuring the effectiveness and quality of project deliverables.

This role also collaborates with peers and leadership to enhance portfolio management processes and tools.

This is a full-time, temporary position expected to last approximately 2-3 years. This role includes benefits and paid time off from Children's Mercy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop project plans, charters, and other relevant documentation:

- Determine the appropriate project management framework and methodology

- Collaborate with stakeholders to produce quality, complete, and accurate deliverables, including but not limited to charters, plans, risk/issues management, budget oversight, RFPs/product selection criteria, QA/test plans, and implementation (go-live) planning

- Maintain all necessary deliverables for project execution in collaboration with others as needed


- Act as the primary liaison between IS resources and internal/external stakeholders, including clinical units, administrative units, procurement/purchasing, third-party vendors, and suppliers.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of portfolio management tools and processes:

- Assist in the development of policies and processes related to portfolio management

- Participate in the selection and management of project management tools and repositories

- Train and mentor others in the application of policies, processes, and tools

- Help create dashboards/metrics to transparently and effectively measure progress and quality

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of experience. Healthcare IT experience in a hospital, ambulatory setting, or with a technology vendor is preferred. OR

- High School diploma or equivalent, with 7 or more years of experience.

- Epic systems migration experience is strongly preferred

- Project Management experience

- HIMSS certification is preferred

- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile certification is preferred
