Facility Type: Long Term Care
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee the activity programs within the facility.
- Assist in formulating, administering, and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about current federal and state regulations, economic trends, and professional standards, providing recommendations for policy adjustments to the Administrator.
- Conduct annual reviews of departmental policies and workforce, contributing to necessary changes.
- Establish and enforce policies for identifying the medically related activity needs of residents.
- Engage in the planning, development, and execution of activity care plans, resident assessments, and interdisciplinary care strategies.
- Fulfill administrative duties, including completing required forms and reports, and submitting them to the Administrator as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Certified Activities Professional credential.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in Activities or Therapeutic Recreation.
- At least 2 years of recreation experience in a long-term care environment.
- Commitment to a person-centered care approach to address each resident's unique needs and preferences.
- A genuine passion for enhancing quality of life.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, their families, and healthcare team members.
