Job Summary

The Laurels of Mt. Vernon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Unit Manager to lead our nursing team and provide exceptional care to our guests. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Nursing Staff: Supervise and manage a team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and Implement Nursing Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and review nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to promote a culture of excellence in patient care.
  • Assess and Evaluate Guest Care: Assess and evaluate the quality of patient care and services provided by the nursing team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for our guests.
  • Manage Guest Assessments and Care Plans: Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans for our guests, ensuring that their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
Requirements
  • Current State Nursing Licensure: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of employment.
  • CPR Certification: Current certification in CPR and additional certifications in a nursing specialty are desired.
  • Management Experience: Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
