  • Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with ultrasound exams.
  • Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and determine appropriate ultrasound exams required.
  • Set up equipment to administer particular exams in a timely fashion, using settings on machines to assure accurate results.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures, recognizing significance of structures visualized in the oscilloscope and differentiating artifacts from normal or pathologic processes.
  • Determine need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
  • Observe patients during entire examinations, recognizing and reporting any changes in patient condition and/or motor abnormality complaints.
  • Document image details and labels studies, maintaining records and logs of exams performed.
  • Perform frequent calibration checks/adjustments on ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems, as necessary.

  • One of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS).
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required.
