Rescar Companies, a leading provider of rail maintenance services, is seeking a skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our team in Louisville. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, we offer a unique opportunity for career growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and repair railcar equipment, including truck assembly, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems
- Diagnose and identify malfunctions, ensuring safe and efficient operation
- Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Clean units and components, maintaining a high level of quality and safety
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of railcar equipment
- A strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Experience with hand tools and mechanical repair
- Previous mechanic experience desired, but not required
- Familiarity with welding a plus
- Competitive base wages, starting at up to $24/hour, commensurate with experience
