Job Summary

The LPN/MA position is responsible for coordinating and implementing care for patients under the supervision of the healthcare provider. This position must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Rooming patients, taking vitals, recording medical history, reconciling medications, and updating information in the patient's Electronic Medical Record
  • Phlebotomy, and point of care testing
  • Working closely with patients and provider to enhance patient health
  • Assisting with any other office duties as asked by the provider or director in the clinic

Some of these duties may include:

  • Preparing patients for examination or treatment
  • Gathering information including reason for visit and related patient information
  • Performing vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documenting findings in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ensuring accurate documentation is maintained, relay instructions to patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and help ensure timely patient flow
  • Collecting and/or assisting providers in collection of specimens, as required, using appropriate protocols
  • Adhering to infection control standards including, but not limited to, hand hygiene, use of PPE, isolation of patient with known infectious disease, and equipment disinfection/sterilization
  • Assisting with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of examination rooms; stock assigned rooms/cupboards and ensure supplies are maintained
  • Coordinating patient needs by communicating with various service providers throughout the clinic
  • Answering phone calls and responding to patient messages within set guidelines and timeframes
  • Completing medication refills in accordance with clinic protocol

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care services
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained

  • Performs general office duties
  • Effectively manages telephone requests from patients, families, and staff
  • Serves as a Receptionist when needed
  • Maintains and performs all patient documentation in a timely, and factual manner
  • Performs Emergency treatment as required
