Our Digital Shared Services teams play a vital role in enabling Northern Trust Application teams and Business Partners by providing a diverse set of capabilities. These include Application Architecture, Development Accelerators, Shared Services API for common digital functions, and Collaboration capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Technical and People Leader with expertise in architecture and design, as well as development of modern cloud native applications. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, well-versed in current technology trends, and a team player with a can-do attitude and open to new ideas and collaboration. Key qualifications include:
- A College or University degree in Computer Science and/or relevant proven work experience
- Expert-level knowledge of software development processes and programming languages (Java, JavaScript), database management systems (DBMS), agile methodologies in delivering modern web applications or Microservices/REST API on Cloud platforms
- Strong knowledge of OWASP, application security, and DevSecOps
- Proficient in Modern Application Architecture and Agile delivery in one or more of the following areas: Java-based microservice applications, Function applications, Event-driven applications
- Analytical/problem-solving skills, leadership/organizational skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of non-functional requirements and SRE principles
- Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders and mentor team members
What You Will Do:
As a Manager, you will partner with Infrastructure teams, Application development teams, and Vendors to lead a team of highly technical developers and Architects in creating development accelerators for creating and aggregating single-page applications for Web and Mobile platforms. You will also lead developers and architects in the areas of architecture, design, and development of modern cloud native applications on Microsoft Azure. Additionally, you will enable Document Collaboration capabilities across the enterprise by working with various cross-functional stakeholders. You will ensure that the solutions delivered are aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and patterns, meeting non-functional requirements, and implementing measures to improve applications stability and availability while reducing technical debt. You will also provide and seek guidance and mentor Application developers in the Digital Shared Services team and other teams, ensuring compliance with corporate standards related to Application Development and/or Production Service delivery. Finally, you will confirm that the artefacts/deliverables related to solution development are produced as required by Northern Trust's project lifecycle(s) and/or service management standards.
