Lead Diesel Mechanic Job Opportunity

First Student is seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Molalla, Oregon. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for scheduling and performing school bus fleet maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex problems, and maintaining service records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise technicians in the shop and ensure efficient workflow
  • Generate work orders and track progress through completion
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of all vehicle components to effectively diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor shop operational performance and efficiency, taking action to improve as needed
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed
  • At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
  • Previous experience in a lead technician, supervisor, or other management role is preferred
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; training, testing, and bonuses provided

  • $28 - $34 per hour based on experience and qualifications
  • $3,000 Sign On Bonus (conditions apply)
  • Additional $.25 per hour for each ASE certification possessed or obtained
