Job Summary:

The Store Manager is the key to ensuring an exceptional store experience for Customers and Associates. They possess a comprehensive understanding of what a successful store looks like and have the leadership and vision to maintain it. They must have a strong understanding of what it takes to become the best local boat parts seller in the market.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of staff.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Achieves financial objectives by understanding the store's annual sales and expense budget; payroll scheduling expenditures; store expense costs; store shrink; analyzing variances.
  • Utilizes the Monthly Staffing Guide and addresses any service deficits by scheduling for traffic and store activities while optimizing payroll allocations.
  • Executes programs and procedures that drive sales with the team and customers.
  • Develops store strategies to grow customer count, loyalty members, increase store traffic, and optimize profitability.
  • Works with PRO Market Team Managers to grow wholesale business and market share through planning and goal setting.
  • Ensures the store and staff represent the highest expression of the brand and the service provided.
  • Ensures high-level customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Ensures the team provides product knowledge to customers and suggests additional services that they may not have anticipated.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations, assigning weekly performance goals, and assures their completion, while accomplishing personal goals.
  • Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of staff and management through company and industry-sponsored training.
  • Delegates responsibilities to the best crew members to perform while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, training programs, and cultural values.
  • Recruits, onboards, and trains high-performing crew members to achieve sales, profitability, and business plan objectives.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personal policies and procedures.
  • Resolves internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved.
  • Protects crew members and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal requirements.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain budgets.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including some holidays.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, or a related field highly preferred, but less formal education with more on-the-job experience may be substituted.
  • At least two years of retail experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds to shoulder height unassisted.
