Role Summary:

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for capturing x-ray images of specific areas of the body for diagnostic evaluation and supporting the imaging department. This role focuses on performing standard x-rays and fluoroscopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicates procedures to patients to ensure clarity and understanding, providing necessary educational resources.
  • Facilitates patient transport and verifies identity in accordance with established protocols. Assists in preparing patients for radiological examinations.
  • Supports technologists in managing patient records, including filing and delivering reports.
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards to minimize unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents and medications within the scope of practice.
  • Monitors patients during procedures and reports any irregularities, suggesting protocol updates as needed.
  • Ensures high-quality image submission to PACS, including correct patient data and lead markers.
  • Maintains equipment functionality and reports any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contributes to the upkeep of a clean and organized department environment.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergencies when a CT Technologist is unavailable.
  • Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Frequent visual and auditory tasks, including depth perception and communication.
  • Regular lifting and moving of patients and objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier objects (25-50 lbs).
  • Frequent use of hands for various tasks, including data entry.
  • Occasional bending and stooping.
