Job Overview

Position Summary

The role of the Machine Operator involves operating various machinery to ensure the efficient production of quality parts. The operator will be responsible for loading materials, monitoring machine operations, and conducting quality checks to maintain production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lift and transfer products from pallets to production fixtures or conveyors.
  • Utilize CNC station controls, including robotic and manual systems, to manage production processes.
  • Conduct First Piece Checks and document results accurately.
  • Perform visual inspections of parts to identify defects.
  • Measure part dimensions using appropriate gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings to accommodate product variations within specified tolerances.
  • Identify and report any issues to supervisory staff for corrective action.
  • Remove burrs from products to ensure quality finishes.
  • Mark products with identification numbers using appropriate stamping techniques.
  • Change tooling and inserts as necessary using hand tools.
  • Document production metrics at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; or six to twelve months of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor issues and identify root causes of errors.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
  • Fundamental math skills, including understanding of decimal systems and min/max values.
  • Capability to follow written instructions and adhere to control plans.
  • Ability to comprehend verbal instructions from supervisors and comply with company policies.
  • Forklift certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a plus but not required.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Exposure to high noise levels; hearing protection is mandatory.
  • Regular exposure to fumes and dust; personal protective equipment is required.
  • Work environment characteristics may vary based on job functions.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting expertise.
  • Experience in deburring and packaging processes.

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
  • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)

Compensation

$18 - $20 per hour
