POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves a variety of responsibilities related to the care and education of children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The educator will provide services tailored to one or more age groups, ensuring an understanding of the developmental stages of the children served. The individual is expected to actively engage in fulfilling the mission of Blessing Hospital, demonstrating behaviors aligned with the organization's core values while supporting its strategic goals and performance improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATORS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • For those working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children: Completion of sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited institution, including specific coursework in child care and development, or equivalent experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  • For educators working with school-age children: At least thirty semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) from an accredited institution, with relevant coursework or substantial experience in a licensed program.
  • Functional Teachers must meet the qualifications for Child Care Director as per regulatory standards and demonstrate effective decision-making and leadership capabilities.

Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements:

  • Compliance with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services requirements for Teacher Assistant roles.
  • Physical examination upon hire and every two years as mandated.
  • Background check as required by state regulations.
