Job Summary

Moran Towing Corporation is seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team. As a Deckhand, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all lawful orders and report unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform duties safely and efficiently, including acting as lookout as required.
  • Work on deck, including ship docking and tug mooring operations.
  • Conduct engine room rounds as required and be thoroughly familiar with vessel's equipment.
  • Carry out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance duties.
Requirements
  • Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) or equivalent.
  • Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • STCW certification (if required for service).
  • USCG 719k Physical examination meeting Merchant Mariner Medical certification.
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Maritime experience working aboard a vessel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work safely in a marine setting.
  • Ability to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to frequently crouch or stoop.
  • Ability to climb/descend stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally enter and work in enclosed spaces.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, rain, cold, and/or humidity.
