Key ResponsibilitiesA typical day for a Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health involves:
- Implementing nursing practices based on the latest evidence-based research, policies, and standards to ensure safe and exceptional individualized patient care.
- Maintaining continuous communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
- Administering medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies to guarantee the safest delivery of medications.
- Conducting ongoing electronic documentation of each patient's assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations.
- Providing patient and family-centered education to promote health, wellness, and effective disease management.
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary discharges to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
- Possession of a current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is mandatory.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
- A minimum of 6 months of nursing experience is necessary, or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
- Preferred qualifications include at least 2 years of critical care experience, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, national certification, and a BSN.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for enhancing patient and caregiver experiences, exceptional teamwork skills, and a commitment to ongoing education are essential.
