Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Banker to join our team at Southside Bank. As a Community Banker, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining commercial banking relationships in our rural markets. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain commercial banking relationships in our rural markets.
  • Originate a portfolio of small business loans and secondary market mortgage products.
  • Work closely with retail branch managers and staff to provide cohesive business development opportunities.
  • Consultative outside sales focus in the small business arena.
  • Enhance existing bank relationships, generate new small business relationships, and exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and perform cash flow analysis.
  • Assist and support activities of credit underwriting and spearhead loan closing process.
  • Consistently engage in the community to identify and originate personal mortgages.
  • Solve client issues by partnering with bank partners in Treasury Management, Retail, Wealth Management, and Raymond James Investment Services.
  • Develop centers-of-influence in the community to drive new sales opportunities.
  • Actively participate in loan committee calls and meetings.
  • Portfolio management related to past due accounts, exception monitoring, covenant monitoring, and advancement of funds.
  • Professional representation of the bank in public, social, civic gatherings, and bank-wide sponsorship functions.
  • Remain current on regulations, analysis, and current trends in banking through continuing education classes/seminars.
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years related work experience.
Working Conditions
  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (e.g. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
