The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for managing the daily maintenance operations within the lodge. This role encompasses various tasks including project oversight, general safety compliance, procurement, and vendor collaboration. The specialist is tasked with executing preventative maintenance and repairs across hotel guest rooms, communal areas, equipment, and the surrounding grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and perform essential repairs on diverse equipment types (e.g., pump and motor replacements), plumbing systems (e.g., unclogging drains and plunging toilets), and electrical devices such as lamps, extension cords, and vacuum cleaners. Additionally, replace electrical switches and outlets, and address other maintenance issues within guest accommodations.
Ensure effective communication of daily activities and any arising issues to subsequent shifts using established communication protocols.
Guarantee that all tasks are executed safely and promptly, adhering to safety standards and optimal equipment usage.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of departmental safety protocols. Participate in safety training sessions and ongoing professional development as required.Keep accurate service records for mechanical and structural systems.
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures regarding lodge operations, employee relations, time management, and safety. This includes the completion of all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Director of Engineering.
Qualifications:
Technical Degree
Technical Training
Relevant Trade Certifications
Experience in Hospitality, Healthcare, or related fields
Preferred certifications in HVAC and/or Electrical trades
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds unaided, with assistance for heavier items.
Capability to navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Competence to perform tasks at heights of up to 50 feet using ladders, harnesses, and lifts.Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with database software, internet applications, order processing systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.
