We are seeking a highly skilled Field Support Specialist to join our team at Builders FirstSource. This role will provide critical support to our Ready Frame Operation, sales staff, and customer base by being present at the jobsite and acting as a liaison between the field and location.
Key Responsibilities- Product Support: Utilize in-depth product knowledge to support sales staff and customer needs, ensuring seamless execution of Ready Frame projects.
- Site Readiness: Read and interpret architectural and structural plans, and EWP and Ready Frame layouts to ensure accurate site preparation and setup.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously increase knowledge of the Ready Frame process, review daily job starts, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Sales Support: Initiate meetings with potential Ready Frame customers, customize presentations to fit their needs, and steadily increase sales to meet annual budget.
- Site Visits: Develop a daily schedule to visit jobsites one week before the start date to provide updates on job status and ensure a smooth transition.
- Pre-Construction Meetings: Attend all pre-construction meetings to educate customers on the Ready Frame process and ensure a thorough understanding of the project.
- Trainer and Liaison: Determine with sales and customers the best approach for training new framers and ensure a seamless integration into the Ready Frame process.
- Follow-up and Quality Control: Develop a follow-up schedule to ensure job completion, review job status with assigned sales reps, and adjust lumber packs as needed.
- Communication and Education: Educate, communicate, and introduce framers unfamiliar with the Ready Frame process to ensure a smooth transition.
- Reporting and Communication: Submit weekly reports on jobsite calls, progress, issues, and suggestions for improvements, and provide a schedule for the following week's calls and objectives.
- Ready Frame Calls: Attend Ready Frame calls to bring everyone up-to-date on jobsite progress and discuss any issues that need attention.
- Liaison and Support: Act as a liaison between the field and location, including design, production, and management, and provide support in scheduling and delivery as needed.
- Education: High School diploma
- Experience: 3 years' experience in construction or a related field
- License and Certification: Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required
- Ready Frame Process: Thorough knowledge of the Ready Frame process, including design, scheduling, production, packaging, and delivery.
- Reading and Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans, and EWP and Ready Frame layouts.
- Communication and Organization: Ability to carry yourself in a professional manner, organize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to multitask, work under tight schedules, and perform job duties with minimal supervision.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use electronic devices, such as iPads, to communicate with customers, designers, sales reps, and supervisors.
- Knowledge of Framing and Building Materials: Thorough knowledge of framing and building materials, with the ability to assist in the design aspect of Ready Frame projects.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build relationships with framers, builders, and potential customers.
- Compliance and Safety: Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety standards.
