Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Apex Waste Solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of heavy equipment used in waste collection, transportation, and landfill operations.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including trucks, compactors, loaders, and other related machinery.
- Repair and Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment. Perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Component Overhaul and Replacement: Dismantle and rebuild engines, transmissions, and other critical mechanical components as needed. Replace worn or damaged parts, including brakes, bearings, and steering systems.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are performed in accordance with company safety standards and local regulations. Report unsafe conditions and accidents immediately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and inspections performed on equipment. Utilize work order systems to track parts and labor.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components of heavy equipment.
- Experience: One-three years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in a waste management, construction, or transportation industry.
- Certifications: ASE certifications in heavy truck repair or other relevant certifications (preferred but not required). CDL license may be a plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts, perform physical labor, and work in various environmental conditions (outdoors, in workshops).
