Role Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) will perform the following key functions:
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards.
- Conduct health assessments by interviewing patients about their medical history and current health status.
- Identify patient and family needs, providing education and resources as necessary.
- Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and ensure quality patient care.
- Manage patient inquiries and document relevant information accurately.
- Coordinate communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist patients in accessing community resources.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Serve as a resource for LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- A minimum of five years of nursing experience, with a strong preference for oncology experience.
- A current RN state license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions
The work environment may involve exposure to various health risks typical in an oncology setting. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical demands include the ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and moving patients, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.
