YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish functional safety criteria for various systems and components.
- Develop comprehensive safety strategies and concepts to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Conduct thorough Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to assess and prioritize potential failure modes.
- Design and implement safety features, including fail-safe mechanisms and diagnostic tools.
- Generate essential safety documentation, such as safety requirements specifications and safety case reports.
- Define and carry out safety validation and verification plans to ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards.
- Create test plans, specify testing criteria, and execute testing procedures.
- Work closely with software and hardware development teams.

YOUR PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An engineering degree in electromechanics or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in functional safety engineering, especially within the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with key functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or FMVSS and their practical applications.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engine (ICE), electric vehicle (EV), and hybrid electric vehicle (xHEV) systems.
- Proficiency in hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
- Knowledge of safety requirements, concepts, and mechanisms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication abilities to effectively engage with various project stakeholders.
- Experience with ANSYS MEDINI is advantageous.
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety Professional certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
