To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • A current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable)
  • SNF experience preferred, but not required

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines
  • Assisting OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly
  • Documenting patient participation and progress on progress notes in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtaining the co-signature of the OTR
  • Ensuring MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications, and discharges
  • Attending facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor
  • Acting as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team
  • Participating in scheduling of patients as indicated
  • Completing billing logs and billing patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered
  • Covering other therapists' patient caseload during absence as necessary
  • Supervising junior COTA staff members or students as needed
  • Maintaining professional relationships with co-workers, facility staff, patients, and patient families
  • Providing in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals, and/or community as needed
  • Complying with all facility policies and procedures
  • Complying with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights
  • Reporting to work on time, adhering to scheduled hours, and projecting a professional image at all times
  • Adhering to productivity requirements, completing productivity reports, and submitting in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and managers
  • Performing all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist, or regional manager
  • Complying with all Facility HR policies regarding lunch, sick, and time off notification
  • Adhering to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures
