Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Granville County Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students with special communicative needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special communicative needs to use their maximum communicative potential based on age and cognition.
  • Coordinate services with the student's educational staff and family.
  • Develop and implement individualized programs to address deficits or abnormalities in articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
  • Conduct screening and testing, obtain diagnostic information, and make recommendations regarding programs and services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports, including Medicaid billing profiles and therapy notes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
  • NC Department of Public Instruction G License.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages, including computer terminology.
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and families in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Working Conditions

The Speech-Language Pathologist will work in a school-based setting, with occasional travel to other locations as needed. The position requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and methods of speech pathology and their proper application in the educational environment.
  • Considerable knowledge of appropriate evaluating tools and equipment.
  • Ability to select and administer appropriate assessment and treatment methods.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct on-the-job training and continuing education for a variety of individuals.
