Electrical Systems Specialist for Billings City

This position performs advanced electrical, automation and process control systems maintenance.
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team in the City of Billings. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for performing skilled work involved in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, replacement and calibration of industrial class electrical and electronic equipment, plant automation systems and process control equipment.
About the Role:- You will perform a variety of skilled work involved in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, replacement and calibration of industrial class electrical and electronic equipment, plant automation systems and process control equipment.
- You will install, maintain, and repair supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other automation components.
- You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair failures in control systems, machinery and equipment, branch circuits; electrical distribution systems, communications, instrumentation, and other electrical systems in the water and wastewater systems.
- Perform skilled electrical, electronic, automation and process control systems installation, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repair and replacement activities for the City's water and wastewater facilities and systems.
- Plan work projects; prepare estimates of time and materials needed to perform assigned repairs and maintenance; ensure adequate materials and supplies are available for proper performance of assigned work; assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies used in the electrical/instrumentation activities.
- Install, maintain, and repair radio and telephone communication systems, cameras, security systems, and other related devices.
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair wireless, copper and fiber optic network media and equipment.
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment including hand tools, shop tools, diagnostic tools and equipment, electrical calibration equipment, electrical safety equipment, vehicular equipment and other specialized equipment used in the installation, servicing, repair and replacement of electrical, electronic, and automation systems.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of formal training beyond high school.
- Six (6) years of related work experience in electrical and electronic diagnostics, installation, repair, and maintenance.
- A valid Montana driver's license or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
- A state-issued journey-level electrician's license, or a journey level certification in instrumentation or industrial electronics from such widely recognized organizations as the International Society of Electronic Technicians (ISCET), the International Society of Automation (ISA), or the Electronics Technicians Association (ETA) International, or an acceptable equivalent certification.

Salary:The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 based on location and industry standards.
