Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and reporting any safety concerns.
  • Participate in clinic flow, assisting with patient arrival, preparation for examination, treatment, and procedures, and recording vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and procedures, and ensure continuity of care, comfort, and efficiency.
  • Administer prescribed medication and vaccinations, and maintain accurate records.
  • Document clinical tasks, testing, and procedures in patient medical records, and navigate electronic medical records to obtain records and update patient information.
  • Collect specimens for testing and transport, and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Obtain laboratory and radiology results, medical records, and update patient demographic data.
  • Ensure patient safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory standards are met.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
Requirements
  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
