Job Summary

The Clinical Director will lead the clinical operations of Methodist Family Health, overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to supervise staff and manage budgets.

About the Role

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for clinical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agency regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, Department of Health, Department of Education, as well as federal regulatory standards for corporate compliance, including HIPAA and EMTALA.
  • Review and evaluate admission applications and work with the Utilization Review and Admissions Departments in scheduling patient admissions and discharges.
  • Manage staff personnel issues and oversee compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Recruit and hire clinical staff.
  • Facilitate the delivery of training and evaluation services and provide coverage for clinical staff.
  • Ensure effectiveness and consistency of training staff involved in direct clinical care via routine supervision, consultation, and evaluation.
  • Facilitate communication within and among departments and address routine personnel and/or policy issues via regular meetings with Department Heads and their staff.
  • Disseminate agency and program information to referral agencies, social service agencies, childcare institutions, etc., as needed.
  • Oversee designated budgets and provide consultation to staff concerning expenditures.
  • Work closely with the Hospital Administrator, Medical Director, and other Program Directors to assure client access to a complete continuum of services.
  • Assist staff and/or patients with appropriate treatment planning and discharge criteria/plans.
  • As needed, provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to address consumer-related issues and problems in a timely manner.
  • Develop and oversee staff work schedules, vacation requests, job assignments, leaves, etc.
  • Coordinate treatment team staff meetings and provide pertinent input regarding client concerns and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Director concerning treatment issues.
  • Assist in pre-service and in-service training.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to the Hospital Administrator as requested.
  • Consult with the Hospital Administrator in changes and/or development of agency guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Hospital Administrator in establishing projected goals for agency programs.
  • Provide services as an evaluator for TFA evaluations and other staff evaluations as needed.
  • Participate in QAPI Committee and actively monitor areas related to direct patient care.
  • Supervise and evaluate the responsibilities designated to the Social Services Supervisor.
  • Participate in regular Clinical Pertinence Review of agency documentation practices and compliance.
  • Participate in Safety/Environment of Care Committee and actively monitor areas related to patient safety and risk management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Hospital Administrator or other management.
