SALARY: Supervisory, $73,887 - $110,503 annual salary, prorated based on start date and prior experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education or designee, the Educational Occupational Therapist will provide specialized occupational therapy services to students with diverse disabilities, ensuring adherence to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and fulfilling related responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
2. Valid California driver's license.
3. Current license from the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
4. Ability to follow guidelines for educationally necessary occupational therapy.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, patience, and effective communication abilities.
  1. Desirable:
1. Two or more years of experience working with students with disabilities.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Plan and implement occupational therapy programs for students with special education needs, focusing on perceptual-motor skills, motor coordination, sensory development, and daily living activities to support educational progress.
  2. Conduct assessments related to occupational therapy, evaluating students within the educational context to identify strengths and barriers to learning.
  3. Develop and coordinate individualized occupational therapy intervention plans in collaboration with the IEP team.
  4. Document findings and recommendations regarding service areas.
  5. Collaborate with the IEP team to modify instructional strategies and monitor student progress.
  6. Provide consultation to educators, administrators, and families.
  7. Maintain records as required by law and policy.
  8. Deliver training to staff and families on occupational therapy principles relevant to students with special needs.
  9. Consult with community agencies regarding occupational therapy services.
  10. Stay informed about laws and policies governing Special Education and Early Intervention in California.
  11. Participate in IEP team meetings and report on student progress.
  12. Attend faculty meetings and parent conferences as required.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
