Job Description:

A compelling opportunity awaits for geologists who thrive in fieldwork. As a Drilling Site Geologist, you will collect and prepare rock samples to create a comprehensive record of the geologic properties throughout the well.

Your observations and data collection are crucial to our customers, and your reports will be delivered to operations geologists at various oil & gas producers across the country.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy independent work, variable schedules, and traveling. You will live and work at remote drilling locations for 1 to 3 weeks at a time, serving as the 'eyes and ears' for our company geologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Describe rock sample cuttings circulated during the drilling process
  • Maintain gas monitoring equipment that collects total gas and gas chromatography information
  • Create documents called mud logs, which are reported to the customer as a record of the well
  • Attention to detail and ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Safe ascent and descent of stairs multiple times per hour while carrying samples and equipment

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Geology or related sciences preferred
  • Customer service experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, SharePoint, Teams) desired
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record required
