ResponsibilitiesApplications are accepted year-round; however, we recommend applying during your final semester of nursing school. Start dates depend on licensure, onboarding, unit availability, and personal preferences.
All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application must participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses should apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.

Responsibilities include functioning effectively as a Registered Nurse as defined by Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provide nursing care for patients and families while maintaining a practice environment that aligns with the ANA Code for Nurses and the Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines, in collaboration with other caregivers.

QualificationsMust be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurses within the last six months are eligible. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa is required. Completion of the residency program within the first 12 months of employment is necessary. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and speaking fluent English is essential. EOE M/F/V/D
