Position Overview:

The Chief Quality Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the Quality Management, Infection Control, Risk Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Medical Staff Services, Advanced Clinicals, and Graduate Medical Education departments.

This role encompasses the management of quality initiatives, infection prevention strategies, and risk mitigation efforts.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Quality Officer will play a crucial role in the formulation, execution, and assessment of organizational performance enhancement strategies and departmental objectives.

The position demands leadership across the organization to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory standards while securing and upholding hospital accreditation and licensing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead organization-wide initiatives for performance enhancement and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate project management, education, coaching, and facilitation related to quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory surveys in alignment with the organization's mission and vision.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field is preferred.

Licensure:
Must possess a valid RN license in Texas or a compact license.

Certification:
Current CPHQ Certification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) is required.


Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting focused on Quality and healthcare operations is essential, with a strong emphasis on acute care environments. Proven leadership experience in large healthcare facilities is mandatory, along with a robust nursing background.

Candidates should have a solid foundation in educational and training methodologies, along with progressive leadership experience at the director level. A comprehensive understanding of healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation standards is crucial, including familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards, CMS regulations, and other relevant healthcare management guidelines.
