Position Overview:
The Healthcare Billing Specialist will engage with payor systems and communicate directly with payors to confirm benefits, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses across various payor types. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving coordination of benefits challenges while collaborating with team members to achieve collective objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize payor systems and direct communication for benefit confirmation.
- Evaluate operational processes to enhance productivity.
- Contribute to the achievement of team and departmental targets.
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Articulate information clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats.
- Promote best practices aligned with our core values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Responsibility, and Excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Payor Verification or direct communication with payors.
- Ability to work autonomously or as an integral team member.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer systems and technology.
- Minimum of one year in a Healthcare or Revenue Cycle billing environment.
- Strong empathetic and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a call center setting.
- One year of experience in a customer service role.
- Advanced understanding of Government or Commercial billing regulations.
Educational Background:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to identify and analyze problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Capacity to respond positively to customer inquiries or complaints.
- Competence in numerical calculations and record-keeping.
- Aptitude for compiling information and preparing reports.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage confidential information.
- Skill in routine administrative tasks.
