Account Executive Job Description:

The Account Executive (AE) will manage key strategic aspects of account work with moderate administrative duties; have regular communication and contact with clients and exercise oversight duties with the Apprentices and Interns. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with California political and regulatory issues and the news media.

What You'll Do:

  1. Coordinate and manage key account activities and plans.
  2. Track news clips related to the client and the client's key issues.
  3. Maintain jobs in progress, project calendar, client files, and other key client documents.
  4. Prepare and document client updates and plans.
  5. Develop media plans, research analyses, press releases, and outreach documents.
  6. Participate in client meetings.
  7. Manage media, legislative, and stakeholder relationships on behalf of the client.
  8. Assist with client billings, staff utilization, and contract developments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public affairs, government affairs, journalism, lobbying, or related work.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of California's political and public affairs environment.
  • Experience in social and digital media.
  • Agency experience is highly preferred.
  • Industry knowledge and experience required.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing/executing strategic communications programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
