Job Summary: CTL Engineering is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
  • Train and supervise lab technicians, maintain quality reviews and certifications, manage equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.
  • Ability to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Dept. Manager.
  • Provide direction on a project to project basis - i.e. preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Interact with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
  • Review soils laboratory test results.
  • Assist in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
  • Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
  • Perform analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience (ideally 4-7 yrs of experience) in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
  • E.I./E.I.T. credentialing is required (already having PE licensure is a strong plus).

Education:

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus, but not required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel, and be physically able to maneuver on open terrain.
