**Position Overview:**
The Clinical Laboratory Technician II (MLT) is tasked with conducting routine analyses on blood, tissues, and various bodily specimens, ensuring that physicians receive accurate results through the use of diverse clinical laboratory instruments. The Clinical Laboratory Technician II (MLT) must possess a comprehensive understanding of patient safety and the laboratory techniques essential for ensuring complete patient confidentiality and safety.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Conducts analytical examinations on biological samples in a timely, efficient, and precise manner, adhering to established laboratory protocols.
+ Assesses the acceptability of specimens through visual inspections or by identifying abnormal or unusual results.
+ Recognizes variables that may influence measurements and outcomes, taking appropriate actions in accordance with established protocols.
+ Executes quality control measures for all testing, ensuring compliance with established ranges prior to the release of patient results.
+ Maintains a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, sanitizing workspaces, monitoring temperatures in line with hospital policies, and troubleshooting laboratory apparatus.
+ Performs additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
+ Must possess **one** of the following:
+ Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology.
+ Completed 60 semester hours (including six hours of chemistry and six hours of biology) from an accredited college or university and have finished a Medical Lab Technician Program.
+ Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the last ten years.
**Certifications:**
+ MLT Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification body (preferably ASCP) (required).
**Experience:**
+ A minimum of five years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory environment (preferred).
