Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Laboratory Aide to join our team at Spooner Health. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner
  • Verify patient identification and provider orders to ensure accurate specimen collection
  • Process specimens in a timely manner, ensuring minimal turn-around-time
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to universal precautions and biohazard safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in continuing education and laboratory meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Phlebotomy or Medical Assistance certification preferred
  • No prior work experience required; willingness to learn and expand skills and responsibilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail, with ability to follow written directions and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
