Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized nursing care to patients/residents by employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Collaboration is key; the RN works closely with patients/residents, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate nursing competency and practice within the full scope of nursing knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards.
- Provide care across all phases of preventative health, maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients/residents in various settings.
- Coordinate care, conduct assessments, educate patients/residents, and perform various nursing interventions.
Leadership Role:
May act as charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel, ensuring that all care provided is safe and effective.
Professional Standards:
Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules relevant to the state of practice, maintaining compliance with the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program is preferred, with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing being advantageous.
- One year of experience in long-term care, subacute care, or medical/surgical settings is preferred.
- Must hold an unencumbered RN license in the state of practice and maintain required certifications and continuing education.
