Job Summary

The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a skilled Utilities Technician to join our team at our processing facility in Avon, NY. As a key member of our maintenance and engineering team, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our plant's ammonia/refrigeration, compressed air, process steam, steam plant heating, steam condensate, hot/cold water, HVAC, and fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Facility Maintenance and Engineering Manager, ensure the safe and efficient operation of our plant's utilities systems.
  • Maintain and repair equipment, including ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and control the operation of our plant's utilities systems, including process steam, steam plant heating, steam condensate, hot/cold water, and fire protection systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of parts.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering team members to ensure the smooth operation of our plant's utilities systems.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of utilities maintenance and engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering or industrial technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilities maintenance and engineering, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration, steam generation, compressed air, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to wear a gas mask and self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds and perform other physical demands of the job.
  • CFC Certification - Type I & Type II: (Minimum) as defined by EPA.
  • Steam/Refrigeration License preferred.
