Job Summary

Powell Industries is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Assembler to join our team in the power control room department. As a Senior Electrical Assembler, you will be responsible for performing various duties related to electrical conduit installation, device installation, and wiring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical devices, including disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, and other equipment.
  • Bend, run, and install electrical conduit, including EMT and Rigid conduit.
  • Install wire way and cable tray systems.
  • Pull wire and large cable.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires.
  • Install wiring according to standard work/process instructions and the NEC Manual.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience installing cable tray and wire way systems.
  • Ability to crimp and terminate wires.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of relevant NEC Code sections.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
Working Conditions
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Constantly standing.
  • Frequently working from a ladder and climbing up and down ladders.
  • Constantly working overhead.
  • Constantly working in cramped quarters.
