Position: Construction Inspector

Reports to: Construction Manager

  • The physical capacity to perform moderately demanding tasks, including traversing uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and lifting weights up to 60 pounds.
  • A proactive attitude, serving as a positive role model for colleagues.
Technical Duties:

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for:

  • Conducting inspections related to earth excavation, concrete slab installation, sidewalk construction, asphalt paving, and various masonry tasks.
  • Monitoring and documenting project activities to ensure compliance with established plans and specifications.
  • Alerting project management to any potential issues that arise on-site.
  • Providing actionable solutions to address challenges encountered during construction.
  • Reviewing project timelines and inspecting different aspects of the construction process.
  • Taking field measurements and performing necessary calculations.
  • Verifying the use of appropriate materials and construction techniques.
  • Ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned and responding to client and departmental needs.
Qualifications:

Required Certifications/Experience:

  • TCC Certification
  • NECEPT Field Technician Certification (ASPHALT) or NJSAT
  • NICET Level 1 or higher Certification in highway construction
  • American Concrete Institute Certification
  • PennDOT Field Technician Certification (Concrete) or ACI Grade 1 Field
