Job Title: Physician Assistant

About the Position:
Emergency Medicine Specialists of Orange County is seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including obtaining patient history, performing physical examinations, and making tentative diagnoses and treatment decisions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval and administer medication as needed.
  • Perform procedures, including laceration repair, foreign body removal, fracture care, splinting, wound, and infection care.
  • Monitor patient progress, document visit details, and instruct patients on appropriate care and follow-up.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Act as a patient advocate, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Continuously maintain licensure, occupational health, compliance, and credentialing requirements.

Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • PA-C or FNP licensure and certification via National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for physician assistants, DEA license, ACLS/PALS certification.
  • Excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
