Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cases for trial, zealously advocate, and defend clients in felony cases in Superior Court
  • Seek and negotiate plea depositions, and enter pleas in felony cases
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university
  • License to practice law in the State of Georgia
  • Two years of relevant legal experience or two years of experience at the lower-level Attorney 2 position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous trial experience in major felony cases
  • Current membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia

About the Role:

The Assistant Public Defender III will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs as a Senior Staff Attorney in cases from pretrial to the conclusion of the case. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to indigent defense and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
