Job Summary:

As a key member of our environmental planning team, you will be responsible for leading environmental projects related to transportation, resilience, urban development, and alternative energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting environmental impact studies, including NEPA/SEQRA/CEQR, MEPA, and CEPA documents, and sustainability planning for energy, transportation, resilience, and urban infrastructure projects.
  • Performing extensive research, data collection, analysis, and preparation of written technical documentation pertaining to land use, policy, demographics, including Environmental Justice populations, hazard risk, and vulnerability, transportation, and transit.
  • Developing and implementing environmental planning strategies to minimize environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and scientists, to deliver high-quality environmental planning services.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to clients and project teams on environmental planning and sustainability issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Cultural Resources, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of environmental and/or transportation planning experience.
  • 3-5 years of NYC CEQR and ULURP experience desired.
  • Strong written and oral communication and data management/visualization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Experience with GIS a plus.
