Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the University of North Florida's team as a Custodial Worker - Campus Maintenance. As a key member of our facilities department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, common-use areas, and carpet and tile floors in accordance with APPA cleaning standards.
  • Perform additional floor cleaning and maintenance duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing floors.
  • Conduct groundskeeping duties, such as raking, grading, excavating, and preparing grounds.
  • Cut and maintain lawns and/or grass.
  • Remove soil, rubbish, and leaves from grounds.
  • Make simple repairs to buildings or equipment and report more extensive damage.
  • Operate various types of equipment, such as buffers, trimmers, hedgers, mowers, and sweepers.
  • Dispose of contaminated trash and waste materials.
Requirements
  • Completion of ninth (9th) grade required; HS Diploma preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The incumbent must be able to work in a team environment and be flexible with scheduling.
