Flexible Scheduling Options Available
Tiered Pay Structure based on commitment:
Tier 1: Base rate based on experience for 3 shifts in a 6-week period
Tier 2: $40/hr for 6 shifts in a 6-week period
Tier 3: $45/hr for 12 shifts in a 6-week period
Tier 4: $50/hr for 18 shifts in a 6-week period
Additional compensation for night and weekend shifts
Unit Description:
This specialized 36-bed unit focuses on the care of patients recovering from various orthopedic, spine, neurological, plastic, and trauma surgeries. Catering to a diverse adult demographic, from young adults to seniors, this fast-paced inpatient unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care for post-operative patients, trauma stepdown cases, and those admitted through emergency services. Our commitment to patient-centered care is reinforced by our core values at CHRISTUS. We foster a collaborative environment, working closely with Beaumont Bone and Joint, our Physical Therapy team, and an in-house Nurse Practitioner to ensure top-tier post-surgical care. The Physical Therapy Department is conveniently located nearby, providing daily rounds for all orthopedic patients.
A Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for delivering comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role includes prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient education and the activities of nursing support staff while upholding professional nursing standards. The Registered Nurse is equipped to provide both direct and indirect patient care.
Qualifications:
A. Education and Skills
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
B. Experience
Preferred: 1 year of acute hospital nursing experience.
C. Licenses and Certifications
Current RN license or permit to practice nursing in Texas. American Heart Association BLS certification required within two weeks of employment.
Work Schedule:
PRN
Night shifts: 7pm - 7am with flexible scheduling options
Shift differentials:
7pm - 11pm +$3.50/hr on base rate
11pm - 7am +$4.50/hr on base rate
Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) +$2.50/hr
Time and a half for major holidays.
