Job Summary

The Perioperative Nurse Specialist is responsible for planning and directing the care of patients undergoing operative and invasive procedures. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams, supervising Surgical Techs, Schedulers, and OR Assistants.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise the activities of Surgical Techs, Schedulers, and OR Assistants
  2. Plan and direct the care of patients undergoing operative and invasive procedures
Requirements
  • Graduate from an NLN-accredited school of nursing
  • Current Louisiana RN license and current BLS, PALS, and ALS certifications through ILCOR courses
  • Able to work flexible shifts and take call according to unit-specific standards
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in a moderate-noise environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of Operating Room experience
  • CNOR certification
Estimated Salary

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
