Respiratory Therapist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in the pulmonary care of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and develop respiratory care plans under the direction of a physician.
  • Manage ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, and therapeutic monitoring equipment.
  • Analyze chest films, blood gases, and EKGs to inform patient care decisions.
  • Clean and stock equipment and supplies as needed to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in CAP and JC surveys to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Function as Shift Leader or Team Leader to support the respiratory therapy team.
  • Manage therapeutic gases, including INO and HeO2, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Perform Pulmonary Function Testing, Hemodynamic Monitoring, and Waveform analysis to diagnose and treat respiratory conditions.
  • Conduct Polysomnography to diagnose and treat sleep-related respiratory disorders.
Requirements:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed to provide patient care.
