Position Overview:
The Financial Credit Specialist operates under the guidance of the Credit Manager, playing a pivotal role in the fiscal operations of K&M Tire. This position is crucial for establishing new client accounts, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Credit Manager in enhancing departmental efficiency. The Financial Credit Specialist conducts thorough credit evaluations and aids in making well-informed decisions regarding credit limits and terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish new accounts promptly, conducting research within five days (including credit references, bank references, and DNBi).
- Review and process credit authorizations as necessary.
- Manage customer file maintenance and scanning of customer documents.
- Ensure customer accounts are complete and current.
- Review customer terms upon request as required.
- Complete and return customer credit references when requested by other vendors.
- Assist with miscellaneous credit-related tasks as needed.
- Document all interactions with customers and K&M drivers in the appropriate fields.
- Perform various account maintenance tasks (e.g., changes in salesperson assignments).
- Generate Monthly/Quarterly Reports to analyze credit line extensions and credit portfolio information as needed.
- Investigate all customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
- Send out invoice requests as necessary.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Support organizational objectives and uphold K&M Values.
- Level II Requirement: File UCC-1's.
- Level II Requirement: Review and renew UCC-1's as necessary when expiring with the state.
- Level III Requirement: Review accounts exceeding $150K; provide recommendations to management.
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles, spreadsheets, and bookkeeping.
- Proficient in accurate data entry.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a professional setting.
- Exhibit a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly in both written and verbal communication.
- Capable of effective communication, prioritization, and organization.
- Proficient in using standard office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory performance on entry-level skills assessments.
