Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. This position involves assisting residents with daily living activities and providing essential nursing support under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver personalized nursing care and support to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met as outlined in their care plans.
2. Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
3. Monitor and document vital signs and resident interactions, communicating any changes in condition to the nursing staff.
4. Support residents during meal times, ensuring a positive dining experience and assisting with food preparation as needed.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident living areas, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
6. Participate in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident engagement and social interaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) required, with training provided by the facility.
- Commitment to ongoing education and competency testing as mandated.
