EKG Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled EKG Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing quality 12 Lead electrocardiograph tests on assigned patients. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

- Prepares patients for EKG tests, explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Performs diagnostic procedures, including 12 Lead electrocardiograph tests, and documents results accurately.
- Maintains the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Performs all clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification preferred.

Working Conditions

- This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
- The incumbent may be required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
