Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Tufts Medicine. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care services in accordance with physician orders and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in a manner that maintains patient privacy and safety.
- Provide complete hygienic care to patients, including distributing linens, making beds, and changing briefs.
- Apply principles of prevention to maintain skin integrity and skeletal muscular alignment.
- Assist self-care Ostomy patients with pouching and preventative skin care.
- Prepare and administer hot and cold applications, including sitz baths and packs.
- Obtain, document, and reconcile allergy and medication lists.
- Collect and prepare specimens for transportation to off-site laboratories.
- Monitor and replenish medical supplies, clean and sterilize instruments, and maintain diagnostic equipment.
- Perform clerical support tasks, such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering phones.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare or related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- One year of experience in healthcare or nursing services preferred.
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
